The firm selected for the study, BJM Consulting, has a track record of over thirty such studies in the state of Florida. Each one must endure the scrutiny of both the community it analyzes, the state legislature, state committees, and various departments. It is in the best interest of everyone for the study to be as neutral as possible.
BJM Consulting expressed that from past experience, they know when they’ve done a good job because individuals on both sides of the community debate use the same study to defend their position. The final study makes no recommendations for or against municipal incorporation. The state legislature and state committees will review it for content and accuracy, and it will be up to the Perdido community to decide whether or not to incorporate Perdido as a town.
