At the direction of the board of We Are Perdido, the organization formed a citizen advisory committee to draft a proposed municipal charter. The committee consists entirely of citizens residing within the proposed municipal boundaries, led by an executive board member. After the first community meeting in January, individuals volunteered to serve on the charter committee. All who volunteered were invited to participate. Craig Dalton introduced several of the charter committee members at the second community meeting in May 2023. They also shared perspectives as committee members working on the draft charter document. The excerpt of the meeting is below.
